Located only 200 meters from the ocean in Costa Rica's most popular beach town, Ron Stewart's Hotel Pasatiempo has become the area's most popular oasis for both locals and visitors. It didn't take long for Ron to establish his small and intimate hotel and the famous Yucca Bar and Restaurant, as THE place for good times and easy relaxation.
The heart of the hotel is a lush garden setting with 10 comfortable bungalows nestled around the large sparkling blue swimming pool. Abundant lounge chairs, hammocks and mini ranchos surrounding the pool make it easy to pass time relaxing in and out of the tropical sun. The palm-thatched bungalows are cool and airy with high vaulted ceilings, spacious bathrooms, ceiling fans and comfortable beds. Many of the bungalows have their own private front porch and some rooms offer air conditioning.
Under a towering (45') beautiful teak and
palm rancho adjacent to the pool and bungalows is the other heart of Hotel
Pasatiempo, The Yucca Bar and Restaurant. The Yucca is named after a
long-standing and infamous tradition called the Yucca Flats Party that
takes place in Kirkland,Washington every July. Ron can tell you more about
it, (at least what he remembers). With this background you might guess
that The Yucca is a place where no one goes thirsty and where fun and
entertainment is the key to Hotel Pasatiempo's tremendous success.
The Yucca Restaurant is a first class restaurant with medium prices and
has earned a place in the heart of the local community. Continental
breakfasts are included in the fare. Lunches and dinners offer a wide
range of selections like blackened dorado and vegetable kabobs or a good
old-fashioned hamburger. The Yucca Bar Happy Hour is a great place to wind
up at the end of a hot, hard day in paradise. The Yucca Bar is stocked
with all your favorite libations, games, and satellite TV. You can talk
fishing, surfing, books, football, politics and more with an incredible
assortment of locals and travelers from every corner of the world. Later
on in the evening, the tempo picks up when local musicians meet for jam
sessions and special parties that welcome anyone looking for a good
time.
Hotel Pasatiempo's newest offering is a hotel
membership in the fantastic 18 hole professional golf course at Rancho Las
Colinas. This entitles the hotels guests to play at the private course
only 15 minutes away at Playa Grande. Ron can also help you arrange a wide
assortment of local tours as well as deep sea sportfishing on any of the
world class charter boats moored in front of Tamarindo Beach.
